Probe the top to see if the two halves are completely solid. Spoiler: they aren't.

already noticed the things aren't solid. Also noticed that no force on earth will get either of those things to move, or to get the ball to fully go down inside those things to get the targets.

Small C on top of each side, then release the round object on the right. Not the only way, or best, but it's a good one.

man, I tried so many things, none of which got those things to do more than jiggle, and a simple thing like that whacks them apart? That's weird.
