How do you get the one at the top!!?

personally I created a triangle-like structure around the ball to allow the c's to fall either side rather than on top, then drew a bunch of lines under it to lift it up...

if you are just going to draw a bunch of lines under the ball to lift it up, you don't need to bother blocking the other c's. the ball will lift right up through them.

i haven't really tried. i just liked watching my mechanism guide the balls right left right left right left right left...

It is definitely a very cool gizmo.

with a couple of different gizmos, used as logic gates, you could make a binary adding machine within GM, but you'd need a lot more height.

Brilliant! It would just have to be small. At the bottom could be a line of stacked deletable objects (release buttons) that dropped one little round object into the machine (from above, corresponding to the channel above the release button) every time you deleted one of them. It might be tricky making readable number text small enough to match how small the machine would have to be. I think it's doable, but I won't know for sure until YOU make it.
