I did this by creating a lever and fulcrum underneath, put a small ball in the cup of the lever, then dropped a big weight on the other end. That's pretty much my go-to method for GM in general. (The lever flings the small ball upwards which hits the black ball, propelling it upward. I could probably do it with just one line and a ball instead of the complicated way described, but my way's more fun :-) )

as I'm opposed to PokemonGo big time I was prepared to hate this level, but it's actually very cool. I've been drawn back to it many times. How in heck did you 3k though?!
